First of all I want you to know that I have been purchasing from
sears for over 40 years. This last event was mine blowing. On or about July 10, 2017, I phoned sears to schedule a repair to a washing machine ( Kenmore - Energy Star - High Efficiency - Low Water), which I purchased in September, 2016. My first service tech stud me up. So I had to reschedule to July 31, 2017. Upon his arrival and review of the machine I was told it was the start switch, and it would cost me over $500.00, to be repaired. I was stunned beyond belief! After hearing my complaint regarding the fact that the machine Is not a year old, he told me that if I entered into the home service agreement for 1 year at $49.00 per month, I would only have to pay for half the cost. Still confused, I entered into the agreement. Once all the papers were signed and I gave up my banking information, he installed the part and the machine still did not work. He examined the machine further and told me, he needed to order another part which would take about 7 days to get to me and that my next scheduled date will be August 7, 2017. Well, needless to say, on August 7, 2017, received a call from the service tech who stated that he put the part on and the machine still did not work. He said I needed a service board at the cost of about $500.00. That information was jaw dropping. He went on the say that because of the service plan I had I would only pay half. Well of course, by then I would have paid $500.00. My service plan did not start until August 27, 2017. I had to wait until after the 27th to get the part that may or may not fix my machine. The service tech and I made a conference call to sears and I then requested a new machine. Both the Customer Service Person and the Service Tech lead me to believe that I would get a $500.00 voucher to get me a new machine. The Customer Service Person told me I would receive a call in 2 to 3 days with the information I needed to get the new machine. I did not hear from Sears in 2/3 days, so I phoned today and was told that my plan did not cover me for a new machine even after the 27th, that I would have to keep purchasing part until the determine the machine cannot be repaired. I declined to keep purchasing part and ask that they return the $252.48, I had pay.
This is my request and complaint. Please return to me $252,48, money I paid for a machine that must be rebuilt.
