Sears Brand New Washing Machine??? - Maytag


I bought a Maytag washer /dryer a little over a year ago (one year warranty), last week the washer started to get very loud during the spin cycle so I called Sears to do a maintenance service. The service man checked the machine and before giving me his findings he called Sears to check on my warranty. After the call he announced, I have bad news...the machine will cost $1600 to fix. I should point out that $1600 is more then the cost of both machines when I bought them. I took this to mean I should go back to Sears and buy a new Machine. I have two small children and buying a new machine every year does not fit into my budget. With that said you can imagine that dirty clothes are pling up fast. My question is this, how does a brand new machine (because to me a 1 year machine is still brand new) fail so miserably. Does Sears and Maytag think the public will continue on this path. The competition is out there. I know for myself, after this experience you will never see me darken the doorway of Sears again. I will also go out of my way to let my friends and family know that Sears and Sears products are a joke. You fooled me once shame on you, fool me twice, I dont think so.
