I am going to start by saying how much I like Sears Auto Center and have been a regular customer since the late 80s. I have Craftsmen tools and yard equipment because they have a fair price and have kept there delivery time one schedule. But In November 2011 I purchased four Michelin tires for my wife%u2019s Trailblazer and spent about $900.00 dollars when it was all said and done. We were coming home from an extended trip and I noticed a tire going flat. I found a nail in it on the outside of the tire in the threads, and proceeded to plug it and refill it with air. I could not get the plug in right caused it still leaked air so I took it to Sears Tire Center to have them repair it. The Technician told me since I tried to plug the tire the warranty was voided but he would take a look at it anyways. Since I had purchased the Road Hazard it would be free. 30 minutes later he called me back explaining that the tire had no fix and a new one would cost me $280 dollars. I asked him if they could plug or patch the hole and he said no. I asked him why the tire was so much and he said that the price had gone up since November. I again asked him if the tire could be patched or plugged and he again replied no. I was in a hurry so I bought the tire but I know that the tire could have been fixed. I have a brother and several cousins that used to work at a tire center and have seen worse holes get plugged. I know all he wanted to do was sell me a tire and make money. Well, Sears you have just lost another customer to your all mighty get the dollar at any cost and any way you can.
