RE. a Kenmore oven mod. # 790,78772407 purchased three years ago. The best thing we did was to purchase the five year service contract. We had to have repairs costing $741.03 ! That was close to what we paid for the oven. Many of the screws broke as the repair man attempted to remove them. I asked why was that happening. His answer was that the material that the screws are made of should be different. .. something stainless. This appears to be a quality control problem. Also , This particular oven should come with a black enamel or a silver stainless top. The white one that it came with is impossible to clean. Once food gets burnt in the enamel .there is no removing it. The repair man who came out was very good... but it is the second time in about three years that we have had to call him. We were astounded by the cost of the parts,,,which were were made with inexpensive materials and were basically simple. I understand that you want to make a profit -but this is really out of control. What would someone do who didn't buy a service contract? Any way --we would not buy a Kenmore oven again -should the occasion arise.

I am sorry to hear that you’ve had this issue with your range. It always concerns us when an appliance we sell has problems, but it is a manufactured product and with any manufactured product, there is a possibility that it could fail. We are not the manufacturer and we do sell a wide variety of appliances from the very cost effective to the higher end appliances so that we can have products that fit every demographic. If we only sold the most high end appliances it would cut a large part of our customer base out and that is not our goal. We do value all of our customers and we do provide feedback to the manufacturers of all failure related service cases.
