I purchased a washer and dryer new from sears in Sept 2002, paid well over 5k with all the bells and whistles. I week after using the washer it stopped working sears did come and it was replaced in Oct 2002. (Tech informed me that original washer "must have been struck by lightning somewhere between shipping to store and to my house) Since that time I have has nothing but trouble with the new washer. I have had to keep a warranty plan on it continuously because I cannot afford to pay for the many repairs. It has basically been rebuilt from the ground up. I have gone several weeks without a washer waiting for repairs. Due to the fact that the numerous repairs do not fall into the 4 calls and parts ordered withing a 12 month period, its always 3 or 4 but tech comes out fiddles with it says its fixed but problem does not get resolved until the 2nd or third time. Then the parts get ordered. I can understand having a washer for say 8 to 10 years and then problems arise but this has been ongoing. My lengthy repair history can attest to that. I would love a washer that I could use for more than 6 months at a time without it breaking down. Sears techs are nice enough but customer service is horrendous. I have called corporate to no avail, my next step is legal. All I want is a reliable washer, my other sears appliances I have no problem with, a couple minor repairs but that is it. Sears CLEARLY DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS, they would rather keep sending a tech and having a dissatisfied customer which by the way would have paid for 2 washers by now with all of the time and money spent sending techs out for repairs than to have someone with a reliable product.
