Getting Sears Kenmore Washer and Dryer repaired on Sears Protection Plan

The best advice I can give you on Appliance Protection Plans is do not get a Sears Protection Plan unless you know you live where you can get Certified Sears Repair and not a third party Repair. Even then, I would not. I will never get again and I question how well Sears Kenmore is made any more due to the treatment I have had trying to get my Sears appliances fixed on a Sears Protection Plan that wasn't cheap. In my area Sears uses a third party repair service. That was not the case in the past and I did not know this now. The third party repair they used for me was in a town 2 hours away one way, only in business for 1 year, has a rude office person who rarely answers the phone, came in a SUV not an appliance truck, seemed to know little about repair, told me they had to order the part from Sears,( the part I told them I thought was wrong), and said would take up to 3 weeks to get. ( Sears said that was not true) They never looked "inside" the workings of the machine to verify or test anything.
I must have phoned, let me see, 10 times I wrote down, trying to get a solution and find out when it would be repaired. Most of the service so called problem solution reps were nice and tried to help, but they couldn't reach the third party place either. The final straw, today, was that a service rep named Lori insisted we had a service call yesterday to fix the appliances so why was I still calling. She insisted that we had. We were home all day, never got an email, phone call, let anyone down our drive (have a closed gate), never knew of, scheduled or any way knew about a time for a repair to be done yesterday. And she wouldn't believe me! I asked to speak with a supervisor and got hung up on I guess as the phone went dead. It's public record on the internet that the CEO of Sears Holding in charge of Repairs and Protection Plans makes well over a million dollars a year salary. Really? For what? Shame on you Sears for ruining what use to be a reliable brand for many years.
My husband is a disabled Vet and makes a fraction of anything close to that and he and I could give loyal Sears customers, ANY Sears customers, just people we meet in fact, better treatment then we have gotten. The Sears brand is obiously going down. Start checking outher places and appliances people. Don't put yourself through what we have been through.
