Lawn Mower parts - Craftsman lawn mower

IN March 2009, we bought a craftsman rotary lawn mower 700 series Briggs and Stratton Engine. Model # 917.374361 serial # 021309m001766. We bought Craftsman because of the workmanship of the products and the longevity of most products we have had in the past. We always keeps our mowers in dry conditions in sheds in the winter and summer. We went to start our mower this morning and the Cable Engine Zone Control/Rear Door Prop broke. To us this is a fairly new mower by Craftsman past standards. We are very disappointed that after checking on line and through chat also, the part has been discontinued with no replacement for it. If this is the new Craftsman policy we will not be buying any more, as we have through the years. .
